Frothy Monkey is an independently owned all-day cafe, specialty coffee roaster, and wholesale bakery, proudly located in Nashville, Franklin, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as Birmingham, and Homewood, Alabama. From breakfast to dinner, we offer a diverse menu including a selection of craft coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails. Our offerings are crafted from scratch using original recipes and thoughtfully sourced ingredients from local farmers and producers, reflecting our commitment to quality and community connection.

 

Role Summary

We're seeking a General Manager for our Knoxville, TN location. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in food and beverage management, expertise in staff development, and proficiency in financial analysis and administrative tasks.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in food and beverage management 
  • Strong P&L management experience
  • Ability To track and effectively manage cost of goods and services
  • Track record in developing managers and staff
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Hospitality: promptly addressing inquiries and complaints, building relationships, coaching staff, engaging in community events, anticipating and resolving customer issues, seeking feedback, and communicating sincerely. 
  • Staffing: Assessing needs and recruiting, training, setting operational goals, managing performance, scheduling, adherence to core values, showing appreciation, and maintaining objectivity in staff matters.
  • Administrative: Planning and monitoring sales, managing budgets, analyzing budgets, financial controls, preparing reports, overseeing food and beverage costs, monitoring labor, cash management, ordering non-food supplies, and maintaining business and employee records.
  • Operations: Implementing standard procedures, coordinating shifts, compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards, overseeing food and beverage preparation and presentation, minimizing waste, managing deliveries and supplies, arranging maintenance, implementing improvements, and supervising marketing and sales building activities.
